The UFC’s return to Fight Island continues to take shape. A welterweight bout between Michael Chiesa and Neil Magny has been added to the January 20 card.
The match was revealed by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto this Tuesday afternoon.
UFC fighter and commentator Chiesa is on a three-win streak. In his last fight, he beat former champion Rafael Dos Anjos by unanimous decision at UFC Raleigh. Michael stands out for his strong grappling, with 11 wins going to completion.
Magny is also on a three-win streak. Neil is coming off defeating former champion Robbie Lawler by unanimous decision. Neil stands out for his strong fists, with 7 wins by KO / TKO. A victory against Chiesa could give him relevance for an important fight within the division.
UFC Fight Island of the January 20 will be held at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
