
Sad news reached the world of video games, and that is that Mike Nash, the design director of Horizon Zero Dawn, the Guerrilla Games video game, sadly passed away at the age of 36. The cause of death was not revealed at the moment.
The news that the designer had died was shared by his former colleagues on social media. One of them, Gavial Klimov, wrote an extensive post about Nash on Twitter, praising his outstanding work in 3D imaging.
Mike Nash was a hardworking individual who put in hours to improve and try to do the best job possible. Mike sadly left us and passed away.
I would like the CG and art community to remember him most of all for his legacy of exceptional 3D visual work.
Mike worked on a variety of projects, including Guerrilla Games Horizon Zero Dawn (2017), where he served as Design Director. Among other things, he helped create the iconic robots from the famous game.
Additionally, Nash also worked on Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Forza Horizon, and Neil Blomkamp’s film Chappie.
