There seems to be a serious problem with custom tags and jsp:include, they can't go together. Correct me if I'm wrong but jsp:include requires flush="true" and custom tags require flush="false". Is there any way around this ? or if not: Will there be a way around this in JSP 1.2?

This is a known problem with the JSP 1.1 specification (I believe they only allowed flush="true" to keep implementations easier to build since so much had changed between versions??). JSP 1.2 will support flush="false" and should allow includes within tags (in fact, the JSP 1.2 spec no longer requires the flush attribute, declaring the default is false!)

The JSP 1.2 and Servlet 2.3 specification are under the JSR 053 Java Community Process program and are available for public review until September 15, 2000 at http://java.sun.com/aboutJava/communityprocess/jsr/jsr_053_jspservlet.html.
