In the final league match of the Lanka Premier League, Dambulla Viking defeated the Colombo Kings by 6 wickets. Batting first, Dambulla Viking scored 203 for 3 wickets in 20 overs. Playing in response, Colombo’s team won the match by making 205 runs after losing 4 wickets with 7 balls remaining. Kais Ahmed was adjudged Man of the Match due to a stormy fifty and 2 wickets.

The Colombo Kings won the toss and decided to bowl first. Samit Patel and Dikwela added 50 runs for the first wicket. Samit Patel scored 26 runs, but Dickwella batted brilliantly, scoring 65 runs off 40 balls. Angelo Perera then took the front for Dambulla and made a stormy unbeaten 74 off 51 balls to take the team’s total score to 203 for 3 wickets in 20 overs. Kais Ahmed took 2 wickets for Colombo with 23 runs.

Playing in response, the Colombo Kings quickly lost the wicket of Dinesh Chandimal (3). Laurie Evans and Daniel Bell Drummond then formed a half-century partnership for the second wicket. Evans was dismissed for 53, while Bell Drummond was out for 14. Colombo’s team once again got into trouble. From here, Ashan Priyaranjan scored an unbeaten 47 off 28 balls, and while supporting him, Thiksila de Silva scored 31 runs in 16 balls. There was no point here and in the end, Kis Ahmed, who showed amazing bowling, also batted here and scored an unbeaten 50 off 22 balls to help the team win the match. Ahmed was also adjudged Man of the Match for his all-round performance. Colombo’s team now clash with the Gladiators in the semi-finals on 13 December.
