Hulu’s sleeper hit Dollface names Michelle Nader as its season 2 showrunner. The hidden gem stars Kat Dennings as Jules, a serial monogamist in search of female friends after getting dumped by her boyfriend of five decades. Since Jules struggles to reacclimate to the woman world, Dollface brings her anxieties to existence in the kind of comically absurd hallucinations.
Nader will function as showrunner on Dollface season two, which has an estimated release date in 2022 and begins filming this summer. Nader is taking the place of Ira Ungerleider, Dollface’sseason 1 showrunner. She worked on 2 Broke Girls, the sitcom starring Dennings that ran for six seasons, as showrunner and executive producer. Nader jokingly referenced her regular alliance with Dennings at a statement regarding her upcoming gig:

I only run demonstrates that Kat Dennings stars in-I believe that is a wise plan. She’s incredible. And [Dollface creator] Jordan [Weiss] has an amazing and different voice. She created a very unique universe with such a fresh perspective, and I feel lucky to get to compose for these women. And an imaginary Cat Lady.
Besides helming 2 Broke Girls, Nader has collaborated with Iliza Shlesinger and Quinta Brunson and developed several pilots over the years. Throughout her career, she’s worked on a listing of sitcoms which includes Dharma and Greg, Kath & Kim, and King of Queens.
In season 1 of Weiss’ comedy, Dennings’ character reconnects with her school roommate and former companion Madison (Brenda Song), who re-introduces her to a culture of single, 20-something ladies. Shay Mitchell and Esther Povitsky also star as the other members of Jules’ makeshift friend group. The season ends on a triumphant note as Jules and Madison both discard the mediocre men in their lives and choose friendship over romance. Dollface season two plot details haven’t been made available, but hopefully more information will come to light once filming begins.
