Sony PlayStation 5 restocks in India have unsurprisingly”sold out” within minutes. At noon on Monday, the pre-orders for PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition (this is exclusive to the Sony Centre site for now) restocks opened for the ardent fans in India across seven sites Flipkart, Amazon, Reliance Digital, Sony Centre, Vijay Sales, Prepaid Gamer Card, and Games The Shop. A mere five minutes afterward, all the websites either said that the product was”sold out”/”currently unavailable”, or fought to load, some even having crashed. Reports the PS5 restocks would be limited probably fuelled lovers to hurry to pre-order just as it opened.
While Sony appears to have once again underestimated the need for its video gaming console in India, what’s worse is that there is no information yet as to if the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition will be back in stock in the nation.
This marked only the first restock of the gaming games since it premiered in India at the beginning of February this year (globally the console has been released in November last year). This was the first chance for enthusiasts in India to formally grab the digital-only counterpart of this console. However, the pandemic has made it unclear as to when the lovers could find another opportunity to get their hands on the next-gen console.
Additionally, there are opportunities that a few of the retailers might have overbooked because of technical difficulties, as noticed before with Xbox Series X, and may need to cancel some requests at a subsequent stage. In any case, Sony Centre has stated that starting May 24, that is following Monday, the effective (uncancelled) restock orders would start to be fulfilled.
