Rumour has it that ABC network has cancelled season 4 for the hit American series ‘The Rookie‘. The show was created by Alexi Hawley and produced by ABC Studios and Entertainment One.
As the show’s season 3 rating saw a considerable downfall compared to season 2’s premiere by 23%, therefore there are high chances the show will not renew for a season 4.
As of now ABC has not officially cancelled or renewed the show, what follows are just speculation. ABC renewed the third season of the show in May 2020 and the same premiered on 3rd January 2021. As of now, only episode 1 – ‘Consequences’ of the new season has been released. Episode 2- ‘In Justice’ and Episode 3 ‘La Fiera’ will release on 10th January 2021 and 17 January 2021 receptively.
What Is The Tv Show All About?
The show follows the story of a forty-five-year-old man named John Nolan who leaves his old job as the owner of a construction company and moves to Los Angeles to work with the Los Angeles Police Department as a Police officer. He turns out to be the oldest Rookie in the Police Department and the oldest to join the Police Training Academy.
‘The Rookie’ also talks about Nolan’s personal life. He is a divorced man and has a 20 years old son who attends college. He realized his aptitude and passion to become a police officer when he helped the police solve a bank robbery. For him, it turns out to be the toughest decision to leave his secured job in Pennsylvania and shift to Los Angeles to join the LAPD after the age of forty.
The official synopsis from season three teases: “Nolan is nearing the end of his training and facing his biggest challenge as a police officer when he must come to terms with the choices he has made in pursuit of the truth.”
