Renewal of The Rookie for Season 4 is a long shot but there is a possibility. The show is not that big of a hit but is still running. The show might run as long as Castle did. We still do not know about a season 4.
Season 3 has just recently come on air. With its first episode out, it has a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.3 million views.

Backdrop Of The Rookie Tv Show
The Rookie is inspired by the real-life story of Bill Norcross who served in the LAPD and is also one of the executive producers of the show. The protagonist, John Nolan, owned a construction company and is a single father of a 19-year-old son. At forty-five he decides to start life afresh and joins the police forces. After helping the police solve a bank robbery, he moves to Los Angeles to pursue the career of a police officer. He graduates from the Police Academy to become the oldest rookie in the police force.
