- Statements by John Cena Sr. where he thinks about Bill Goldberg’s recent return to WWE.
- Beliefs Goldberg should not be used in mainstream matches of major WWE events.
Goldberg returned to WWE on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in which several company legends were also in attendance. Golberg, to the surprise of many, stepped into the ring and challenged Drew McIntyre to a match for the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble.
John Cena’s father, John Cena Sr. , recently appeared on Boston Wrestling MWF’s Wrestling Insiders, where he gave his take on Goldberg’s return to WWE and what he awaits upon the return of the former Universal Champion.
” If Goldberg wins the belt, that’s it, he would defeat Drew McIntyre, but I think if that happens, the fans will not be happy and will express it. So why would WWE hold that match anyway? Goldberg is a guy who He’s in great shape and I’m funny when McIntyre says hitting him is like hitting his father, who I don’t think has Bill’s physique. If you have Goldberg, who still has a few more fights left, at least leave him in one position where you don’t embarrass him, “said John Cena Sr.
” Don’t take face away from Goldberg, that’s what I’m trying to say. If you’re going to have a superstar of his caliber and who has some credibility, at least give him a chance to get some credibility. Don’t use him in matches like that of Wrestlemania. That is not beneficial for Goldberg, for the company, nor for the fighter who faces it, “said John Cena Sr.
