Joe Biden is already the 46th president of the United States of America and, as such, will go on to use the vehicle assigned to the top leaders of the North American country: the armored Cadillac known as ‘La Bestia’ (The Beast).

In fact, after his inauguration, the US president was able to make his first trip in his new car to go to Arlington Cemetery where he paid the traditional tribute of the presidents-elect to the Unknown Soldier. As a curiosity, The Beast sported a new license plate with the number 46.

In addition to the oval office or the nuclear briefcase, Biden has inherited from Donald Trump what is possibly the safest car in the world. The first Beast was created during the Obama presidency and in 2018 Trump released a second generation of the car that has the difficult mission of protecting the most powerful man in the world. That ‘title’ belongs from now on and for the next four years to Joe Biden, who will have to park his beloved 1967 Corvette (a wedding gift from his parents) to make his transfers in this Cadillac – which has nothing to do with it.

see with no production car, of course – which according to some information is valued at 1.5 million dollars (the contract with GM amounted to almost 16 million and the expected production was 12 units)The presidential limousine is a model developed by GM together with the American secret service that weighs between 7 and 10 tons (the data varies depending on how we consult), such is its armor and security equipment.

An example is enough: the width of the doors is more than 20 centimeters and they weigh the same as those of a Boeing 757. Its interior, with a capacity for seven occupants including the two front seats, is prepared not only to protect the POTUS from a projectile attack (the armored glass has five layers).

They also have a special seal that would allow it to emerge unscathed from a chemical attack, for which the car has an oxygen tank inside. Its chassis is of a van and is reinforced with a 12-centimeter thick armor and, in the underbody, with explosive-resistant steel. The engine to move such a mass is a high-torque, 214-horsepower diesel V8.

Even the tires have an inner layer of Kevlar to avoid punctures and, in the worst case, the rims are so robust that the car could roll on them. Another defense mechanism of this bunker on wheels, in this case facing the outside, is a tear gas emission system to prevent anyone from approaching in case of danger. It is also rumored to have heavier weapons, but they are just that, rumors.

Of course, the president is in constant communication with the White House and the Pentagon via satellite phone and even carries a POTUS blood bag in case an emergency transfusion is necessary. And these are only some of its known elements, for logical security reasons, many of its details remain secret.
