There are speculations about the American Science fiction drama ‘The 100’ to renew for a The 100 Season 8 after successfully releasing critically acclaimed 7 Seasons. This series is created by Jason Rothenberg, is loosely based on the novel series of the same name by Kass Morgan. The 100 first premiered on The CW network on 19th March 2014 and is available for streaming on Netflix all over India.

The show is a post-apocalyptic drama which includes characters Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor), Finn Collins (Thomas McDonell), Bellamy Blake (Bob Morley), Octavia Blake (Marie Avgeropoulos), Jasper Jordan (Devon Bostick), Monty Green (Christopher Larkin), Raven Reyes (Lindsey Morgan), John Murphy (Richard Harmon), and Wells Jaha (Eli Goree).

The 100 Season 8th Plot So Far
The story narrates a time ninety-seven years after a nuclear apocalypse on earth that wipes out life. The survivors now live in a space station orbiting the earth called Ark. After three generations being born here, the life-supporting capacity of the Ark seems to be failing, and 100 juvenile detainees are sent to earth to determine whether the planet is habitable or not.
To their surprise, they find survivors who are named as the grounders, the reapers, and the mountain men. The mountain men are descendants of people who locked themselves up during the apocalypse. With the leadership of Bellamy and Clarke, the detainees battle hostile grounders and establish a connection with Ark. It is revealed that the apocalypse was caused due to an Artificial intelligence named A.L.I.E., who destroyed the entire human race in order to overcome human overpopulation.
Will there be a The 100 Season 8?
To the much disappointment of the fans, The 100 will not return for a new season. The show’s makers had announced way back in 2019 August that the show will not renew any new seasons after season 7 but created season 8 on popular demand.
However, rumor has it that a spin-off for the series may be up and running pretty soon by the makers. Nevertheless, fans are eagerly awaiting.
