The Indian men’s hockey team lost to Belgium 5-2 in the semi-finals at the Tokyo Olympics. With this Belgium became the first team to reach the final, while the Indian team’s wait for Olympic gold increased for another Olympics.

After the semi-final match, PM Modi spoke to the captain of the Indian hockey team. He appreciated his good performance throughout the tournament and wished him all the best for the next match.

The Indian men’s hockey team defeated Great Britain 2-1 at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 to make it to the Olympic Final Four for the first time since 1972. Former India hockey captain Viren Rasquinha became emotional after the victory of the Indian team which reached the top four after 41 years. He had sent messages of congratulation to the Indian team that created history.
