It seems like Warner Bros. doesn’t want to be left behind and will make a ton of DC Comics movies every year starting in 2022.
Marvel Studios will take advantage of the Disney + platformto fully exploit its characters. In fact, the head of the studio, Kevin Feige , wants to release a movie or series a month, in what would be a real content madness. But DC Comics movies do not want to be less and will enter this war with 6 movies a year.
Although it has existed since 2013, the DCEU only accumulates 10 films such as The Man of Steel (2013), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Suicide Squad (2016), Wonder Woman (2017), League of the Justice (2017 and extended version 2021), Aquaman (2018), Shazam! (2019), Birds of Prey (2020) and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020). We must also add Suicide Squad of James Gunn has already been filmed and will arrive in 2021. There are also plans to Aquaman 2 , Shazam! 2 ,Black Adam , Flash and Cyborg . Not forgetting that there are independent DC Comics movies like Joker (2019) and The Batman (2022).
So if all this is added, it seems a lot of content, but nothing to do with Marvel Studios that has already released 22 films and prepares a lot of new installments either for theaters or in series format. Now, they say that Warner Bros plans include making 4 DC Comics movies for theaters and 2 for HBO Max each year.
The DC Comics and Marvel movies will also be joined by Star Wars movies . Since they have presented many new series and some stories for cinema. So all this means that fans of the superhero genre and science fiction can already have free time to see everything that is to come.
In time we will know if so many DC Comics and Marvel movies are a good thing or they end up tiring people and causing superheroes to fall in popularity.
