The Walking Dead are on a constant collision course for their season 11 premiere. The promotional train has brought us a teaser trailer for the finale story along with the first look at Mercer, a comic book character.

Michael James Shaw is the actor who plays this character. Shaw will play the role of The Commonwealth’s chief officer, which is the technologically advanced network of colonies (for the apocalypse) that will be introduced to the world in season 11. Mercer stands out in the crowd with his red uniform.

The inclusion of Mercer in the teaser, which also features people like Norman Reedus’ Daryl, Lauren Cohan’s Maggie, Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan and Melissa McBride’s Carol, hints to the character’s prominence for the last 22-episode Chapter.

The first look of season 11 along with a bunch of photos. Angela Kang, showrunner of the show, teased there would be “tons of Zombies and lots of action, fun and intrigue in locations we’ve never been to.”

“We’ll be dealing the new group that our foursome Eugene and Ezekiel, Princess and Yumiko came across and that opens their world up in the bigger and unexpected way,” she said referring to the Commonwealth. “Next, we have to verify that Connie was still alive at episode 16 so that we can continue to work with that thread. As they deal with the aftermath from the Whisperer war, we have some great stories at Alexandria. Then things get even more crazy. It just keeps going from there.
