Regina King was not present at the awards show last season, even though her Oscar-nominated directorial debut was a great film. The trailer for Netflix’s The Harder They Fall, which features Regina King, shows that she is back in action.
The film, a Western from Jaymes Samuel (and writer Boaz Yakin), reads a little like a Red Dead Redemption (for gamers in this room). It depicts rival gangs, dressed in various mix-and matching hats and overcoats, as they gun-sling their way across the American frontier. They want money, revenge, or another excuse to shoot poor people in the face. And if the trailer is anything to go by, they will have plenty of them. Netflix has had its fair amount of strike-outs as well as home runs throughout its long list Originals. We’d still be willing, however, to put a fistful of dollars on the possibility that this one will be a hit. Let’s not wait for any longer than a 2-minute trailer.

According to the trailer for the film, the movie will be released in Fall 2021.
The film was declared in the summer of 2019 and was initially scheduled to begin filming in March 2020. However, production was delayed because of the pandemic.
