After a gripping last season, fans of Netflix’s royal soap opera The Crown are eagerly awaiting the next installment.
Season four took viewers through the biggest political dramas of the Thatcher years, as well as Prince Charles and Diana’s wedding and the subsequent deterioration of their marriage.
The episodes received high critical acclaim. They have also voted for the best shows of the year. Gillian Anderson, Emma Corrin, and Princess Diana were both praised by critics.
The Crown Season 5 Release Date
Netflix has yet to release Crown Season 5 but production is expected to begin in July. This season will see a new cast of actors portray the legendary royal family. All four seasons of The Crown have been released in November/December, took around seven months, and required at minimum eight months of postproduction. Our best guess is that The Crown Season 5 will premiere in November 2022.
It is disappointing that viewers will have a long wait. It will be worth it. Season 5 filming was supposed to begin in June 2021. However, it was expected that the filming would last for the full year. The pandemic was not the reason that the production schedule was postponed.
The Crown Season 5 Expected Plot Updates
The Crown season 5 will likely be set in the 1990s. Season 4 will continue where it left off. It’s also the moment that Charles and Diana are about to wed.
The couple separated in 1992. Queen Elizabeth 2 has named it “annus terrible” (horrible years). The Crown may have a significant plot point, as we will be able to see the reaction of the Royal Family from the inside. John Major became the new Prime Minister, a leader in politics and international affairs. There will be much to see and do in the next season.
