The Conjuring 4

The Conjuring 4 could bring the Warrens back if The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is a hit as there are plenty of real-life cases left to explore.

“There are some really interesting case files at the’80s and, without giving any one of those away, I think it’s also interesting to see the Warrens more as these public figures under scrutiny, skeptics coming at them, them working together with police departments,” director Michael Chaves told Dread Central.

“What [The Devil Made Me Do It] ideally does is open up this new chapter for the Warrens. This has an extremely unique end to The Conjuring films. I would be excited to see where it may go from here.”

While we wait to find out if the next film is a big enough hit for The Conjuring 4 to occur, here’s everything you want to know about a potential fourth outing for Ed and Lorraine Warren.

The Conjuring 4: Release Date Confirmed?

Considering The Conjuring 4 has not been officially confirmed, there’s no release date just yet. But it’s always worth speculating as it could arrive.

There was a three-year gap between The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2, whereas there was a five-year gap between the Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. However, the 2021 movie was originally scheduled for release in 2020, so it would have been four decades if not for its COVID-19 pandemic.

Taking this into consideration, perhaps a fourth Conjuring could appear as early as 2024.

Of course, the delay between movies isn’t so long when you think about the release of spinoffs in between.

Vera clarified that she’d”like to” come back while Patrick added: “We always need to push those characters. I would love to — for no other reason than I’d like to keep playing opposite Vera.”

Vera also lately affirmed that There’s currently”some talk of continuing”

The Conjuring 4 cast

Conjuring stalwarts Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga have stated they are more than happy to keep on emerging as everybody’s favorite paranormal researchers — as well since they are the heart of the sequence.

Whilst additional horror businesses have gone through recurring recastings, it is difficult to see them doing this with The Conjuring. In case a Conjuring 4 happens, it’s going to celebrity Wilson and Farmiga.

The Conjuring 4 plot: What cases could The Conjuring 4 cover?

The next film ends in November 1981 following the trial of Arne Johnson concludes, and we could assume that The Conjuring 4 will take place after the deadline.

That still leaves a few intriguing cases in the real-life adventures of the Warrens which may be used as a basis for a new movie, which could see them head back into a haunted house.

Back in 1986, the Warrens investigated a double helping of haunted houses with the Snedeker house along with the Smurl Haunting. The former has already loosely motivated The Haunting at Connecticut, and the two revolved around homes supposedly infested by demons.

After the third picture broke from this haunted house formula, however, it might be a disappointing backward step for the series to return to a single.

If they wish to avoid that trope, there’s 1 case that’s not yet been covered from the Warrens’ case files that holds a whole lot of promise: the legend of the White Lady at the Union Cemetery in Easton, Connecticut.

While the Warrens did not directly investigate the phenomenon, they’ve promised to have a movie of the White Lady inactivity and also have written a book about it.

It is said that the soul appears in a delicate white nightgown or wedding gown and goes throughout the cemetery, with reports that drivers have even seen her out of the cemetery, causing them to swerve.

“I can inform you that I know for true that this area is haunted, it is one of the most haunted areas around,” noted Lorraine Warren — and if this is no scope for a Conjuring movie, we don’t know what’s.
