The Barcelona elections will not be held on January 24, as was originally planned. The meeting that took place this morning between Barcelona and Procicat has determined the unfeasibility of the elections normally on the scheduled date. The Generalitat has decreed municipal confinement that is not willing to skip to allow the Barça elections. In this way, the club assumes that the elections cannot be held on January 24.
Now a new date for the elections remains to be determined. Barca has asked the autonomous government for legal protection to allow voting by mail in their elections when they take place. This afternoon, at 7:00 p.m., a meeting of the candidates with the management board is scheduled. It will address the search for a new date and it is expected that the topic of Eric García will come up.
