Shadow and Bone Season 1: Release date, plot, cast and everything we know so far!

Shadow and Bone is an upcoming fantasy television series on Netflix Created by Eric Heisserer. It is an adaptation of the overlapping book series Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo.

21 Laps Entertainment is the production company of the series and is composed by Joseph Trapanese in the English language.

It has been confirmed that the first season will include 8 episodes, the names of which has also been revealed. The directors for the first season include names like Mairzee Almas, Lee Toland Kreiger, Dan Liu, Jeremy Webb and Eric Heisserer.

What is it about?

The series follows the story of a girl named Alina Starkov, a young soldier and a citizen of Ravka, the Russia-inspired kingdom. To her surprise, she discovers a power which might save her bestfriend and assist in reuniting her country.

Dangerous forces unite against her as she began to hone it. The series also show a love story between Darkling and Alina. Thus, the show is filled with action, drama, romance and lots of magic.

According to the author of the books, Leigh Bardugo,

“The show will be radically different from the books. But in the most amazing way. Will be pretty much a high budget fan fiction.”

Shadow and Bone Season 1 Release Date

The tv show was announced on 10th January, 2019. The shooting of the show started in 2019 itself and ended in February 2020. Some additional shootings took place in September and October 2020. The post-production team is likely to be working on the footage.

There have been efforts from the producers to release the series. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic situation, all plans for the release have been stopped. We hope to see some progress in the near future and are expecting the show to release in 2021.
