Riverdale season 5 has been in hiatus for close to three months. There are still a month, and some weeks, before the show comes back.
This hiatus hasn’t been too bad, it seems. Riverdale news was dropped from the CW and other shows by the CW, which included the return of Josie, the Pussycats and Riverdale. We now know Riverdale will return to the network’s fall TV lineup for 2021, despite the fact that July 7 was moved back to August 11.
Season 6 will premiere Tuesday, November 16, at 9 p.m., after The Flash. This season pairs our Riverdale crime solvers with Team Flash to create a blockbuster block of television.
In addition to the news of the sixth season’s premiere, there was also a tease regarding a 5-episode event. This intrigues us about what will happen in 5B and how it will culminate in this presumably memorable episode arc.
First, however, we have to see the return of the show. It will tell us what happened with Jughead, and what Betty is up to as an Undercover Trucker.

Riverdale Season 5 Netflix Release Date
When can Riverdale Season 5 be available on Netflix? We are looking at October. If the series doesn’t get preempted again (which is unlikely, as there are a confirmed premiere date for season 6), the finale of Riverdale season 5 will air on Wednesday, Oct. 6.
On Thursday, Oct. 14, Netflix will release the fifth season. If you are looking to catch up in the timeframe for the five-episode event that opens Season 6, there will be a little more than a full month.
We’re hoping for a super crossover, with cast members from Katy Keene & Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
K.O. Kelly and Bernardo made an appearance on season 5. Cheryl was seen praying at a dark shrine with her mother in “Chapter Eighty-six: The Pincushion Mann” after Minerva (played as Agatha Night on CAOS) fled.
It’s certainly not possible to achieve this, so let’s keep our fingers crossed. Also, we hope for a holiday-themed crossover when the show comes back. Are you ready for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and even murder?
