Dan Harmon is the creator of Rick and Morty and will be joining Nathan Pyle who wrote the “Strange Planet” comics in an animated series adaptation. Apple Studios and Shadow Machine (an award-winning anime production studio) collaborated on “Strange Planet.”
Apple TV+ is offering a smaller but more diverse animated series line-up. “Strange Planet,” the streaming service’s second adult-animated series (after “Central Park”), is it’s second.
Harmon is best known as the creator and executive producer of “Community,” a five-season series on NBC that ran from 2009 to 2014. It aired for five seasons on NBC, with the sixth episode on Yahoo! Screen in 2015.
The program will tell captivating and moving stories about distant worlds similar to ours. Apple Studios is producing Strange Planet with ShadowMachine. ShadowMachine is an award-winning animation studio and production house known for films like BoJack Horseman.

Harmon is currently working to create “Krapopolis,” Fox’s animated series about Ancient Greece. As Fox and Bento Box are entering the NFT sector, this program will be one of the first-ever animation series to be selected only on the Blockchain.
Alex Bulkley (with Corey Campodonico, Steve Levy, and Taylor Alex Pyle) join Harmon and Pyle in their role as executive producers. Harmon is most well-known for co-creating Community and executive-producing it, a long-running comedy-sitcom that aired in 2009 through 2015.
“Strange Planet” covers a complete life cycle of the planet’s inhabitants.
