Former WWE commentator Renee Paquette was interviewed by journalist Chris Van Vliet. During the session, Renee spoke about her reaction to Jon Moxley’s resignation in 2019, and the prospect of working at All Elite Wrestling. Next, his statements.
Renee Paquette does not want to work at AEW at the moment
What they’re doing at AEW is fantastic, but I don’t see myself in there for now. Of course, I could be a part if the right opportunity arises, but I feel like there’s nothing I can achieve at the moment. My time in WWE and The contact I’ve had with wrestling was great, but I don’t want to be recognized for just that. I want to get out of my comfort zone and learn new things. Throwing myself to work at another wrestling company would take away the meaning of why I left WWE first.
Was Jon Moxley’s departure from WWE difficult for Renee
Surprisingly, he didn’t. In fact, it made my life a lot easier. It took me too much to adapt to my role as a commentator when he started out as badass. I convinced myself that it was all fiction and that within that world we were strangers. And when he came on stage my colleagues would ask me what we did during the week. His departure from WWE was a relief in that sense, and I hoped that people would treat me differently from then on. But little by little I was displaced of production meetings as if he was going to give Moxley information in secret, which never happened.
