Netflix’s sci-fi superhero show Raising Dion is renewed for a brand new second season. The show is based on a comic book of the same-named and Dennis Liu had created a short film for the book as well. Carol Barbee has adapted and created the show for Netflix

The show features Ja’Siah Young as Dion Warren and Alisha Wainwright as Nicole Reese in main roles. Other characters include:

- Sammi Haney as Esperanza Jimenez
- Jason Ritter as Pat Rollins,
- Michael B. Jordan as Mark Warren,
- Gavin Munn as Jonathan King
Netflix has not announced characters for season 2 as of yet.
Plot
The show revolves around a 7-year-old boy Dion. Nicole and Mark have a child named Dion. Soon After Mark loses his life in a tragic way which leaves Nicole all alone in raising her son. As time passes by, Nicole realizes that her son Dion has certain magical powers and abilities. He has inherited them from his father. Such powers include healing. teleportation, invisibility, etc. Nicole keeps this secret between her and Pat.
The show also has an old fashioned villain named “the crooked man” who is after the powers of Dion and who also killed Mark. In the end of the series, it is revealed that the crooked man who is also known as the storm has possessed pat. In the end, the storm leaves Pat and possessed Brayden. Season 2 will pick up from this cliffhanger as to how will Dion deal with this supernatural villain
Release Date
The first season of raising Dion was released in October 2019 and soon won the hearts of the audience. As the show is the only superhero series where a child saves the world. Also the story features a black family story of a mother and her son.
However, Netflix had announced the renewal of the show in January 2020.

The makers have not announced the official release date for the show yet, as the show’s production is not completed (we all know what to blame for that).
