In a month it will be 15 years of the PPV ECW One Night Stand. One of the most remembered matches of the event is when then-WWE Champion John Cena lost the title to Rob Van Dam. In an interview with metro.co , former ECW owner Paul Heyman recalled that match and the public’s reaction to Cena’s presence. Here are the most outstanding statements:
“John Cena thrives on live audience interaction, generates that level of passion and reaction in the crowd that I have only seen with very few people. I think he loved every micro moment of that match and remembers it as much as we do today. “
” Everybody talked about the atmosphere of the event. The reactions that the boos generated to John Cena or what RVD did above the ring. Anyone who says they would not appreciate the opportunity to work with John Cena is a fool. As for Rob Van Dam, he brought the house down out the window and did what he would do to any opponent in the ring. Every ECW night for five years, he’s done that, stand out from the crowd.
“So although many people are so you captivated with memories of ECW One Night Stand 2005 and especially the fight between Rob Van Dam vs. John Cena in 2006, the truth is that for seven years, nights of ECW were so, is the product that we present every night. What they saw that night, it was truly ECW. “
