The fairly strong rumor, and it seems that NVIDIA would have canceled the launch of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, something that is at least striking since both ASUS and Gigabyte had confirmed its existence.
The information comes from the well-known leaker Harukaze
who in addition to throwing the bombshell said that the RTX 3060 of 12GB / 6GB are still in the race to face the Radeon RX 6700 (XT) from AMD. He also mentioned that the RTX 3050 would arrive only in Q2 of the year.
The reason for the cancellation is unknown although the leaker himself confessed not being sure that it is the Ti variant. Perhaps a model with more CUDA cores and a larger memory bus has been canceled which would result in the arrival of an RTX 3080 Ti but with a different configuration.
However, if this turns out to be true NVIDIA would have canceled the most logical launch of all leaving confusion among its audience with mid-range graphics cards. This is because the green team could have up to five different GeForce RTX 3060s in the coming months: The 12GB and 6GB RTX 3060s RTX 3060 Ti. And the rumored RTX 3060 SUPER and RTX 3060 ULTRA. It should be noted that we were unable to verify their veracity of the latter so we decided to put them aside for the moment. All this for what purpose? Complicating the launch of AMD’s Radeon RX 6700.
