During the Royal Rumble 2021 broadcasts through WWE Network, superstars Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler won the Women’s Tag Team Championships after defeating Charlotte Flair and Asuka in combat.
This confrontation took place in the preshow of the first pay-per-view day of the year. The rules were dominant in much of the fight, but Charlotte managed to face both while her partner was out of combat. The interference from Ric Flair and Lacey Evans completely altered the result. Evans attacked The Queen with Ric’s Hall of Fame ring, leaving her ready for a Nia Legdrop and the count of three.

In this way, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler win the Women’s Tag Team Championships and begin their second reign as a team. The duo of The Queen and The Empress won the titles 42 days ago at TLC 2020. Asuka and Flair defeated former champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler on December 20, obtaining the gold tag team for the second and first occasion respectively. With that victory, Charlotte became a triple crown champion (adding her individual reigns on RAW and SmackDown) and a Grand Slam champion (adding those of NXT).
Charlotte Snatched Tag Team Titles On Her Return To WWE
On December 20, 2020, in Tables, Ladders, and Chairs, fans received the surprise of the return of Charlotte Flair after almost half a year of absence. The Queen replaced Lana in the fight for the tag team titles, joining Asuka to face Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. In the final moments of the match, Asuka suddenly appeared to take Nia to ringside while Charlotte escaped from a Baszler Kirifuda Clutch and performed a Natural Selection to take the victory by the count of three.
