Lucifer season 6 will present a brand-new character, just in time for the show’s conclusion. After a fan-favorite series over at Fox, Lucifer has come to be one of Netflix’s largest original programs since the streamer picked it up after season 3. Most recently, the Tom Ellis-starring series dropped the remaining episodes of season 5, which delivered a few game-changing twists. After picking up from where last summer’s season 5, part 1 left off, Lucifer explored the coming of God (Dennis Haysbert) because he looked for his ideal successor.
Lucifer season 5 was once expected to be the end of the line for the show. But, after Ellis’ revived contract with Netflix, the series has been awarded a surprise. Now that will function as the authentic end of Lucifer, and it is so far shaping up to become quite the goodbye. The remaining 10 episodes will probably see Lucifer settling into his new position as God and continuing his connection with Chloe Decker (Lauren German), which finally reached a new milestone in season 5B. The last season has been explained as something rather distinct, meaning that there will be plenty of surprises ahead.
Lucifer’s latest developments, co-showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson provided some fresh teases about what’s to come in season 6. Regardless of this season being the end, there will be at least one new character introduced in the next episodes. When asked if season 6 has enabled them the chance to bring in a character they initially thought could be left on the cutting room floor, Henderson had this to say: “Oh, that is a good one… There are a new character in 6 that was not likely to be part of Season 5. A completely different personality .”
So far, two new personalities have been officially announced for Lucifer season 6: Brianna Hildebrand’s rebellious angel Rory and Merrin Dungey’s Sonya, a uniformed cop who creates a bond with Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside). Whether either of both of these newcomers are the sole Henderson was referring to remains to be seen, but it is not outside the realm of possibility. On the flip side, there might be a third mystery character on the way for Lucifer’s season 6, which might make things a little crowded.
In addition to the new characters, only a few additional details are called the Lucifer season 6. There will be a time leap between seasons, and somewhere inside the last 10 episodes lies the priciest installment Lucifer has produced yet. In terms of matters like how Lucifer will take to being God and if Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro) will be restored somehow, fans will need to await answers. Hopefully, Netflix won’t store them on their feet for a long time.
