The setting of the whole anime story is a post-apocalyptic world. Here human worth is measure in quantity. Therefore if the counting goes down to zero, it indicates that he or she is going to fall into hell. Whereas the lead protagonist Hina’s count depends on how many hundreds of kilometers she has walked.

Also, Hina is finding Legendary Ace, her mother’s last wish and she also met Licht Bach. Hence the whole series is really interesting from the characters to the design it’s perfect.
