MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina announced their retirement from international cricket on August 15 and made the entire nation stunned. Among both MS Dhoni was the first who announced his retirement that day, he announced his decision exactly at 19:29 IST.

Legendary wicket-keeper and batsman announced his decision through his social media accounts. He has not played any competitive match since last year’s World Cup. He posts: “Thanks a lot for the love and support that each one of you has given”, he also mentioned ”consider him as retired from 1929 hrs.”

The country was already in shock with his decision as no one is ready to hear that, Suresh Raina followed him and took his social media accounts to announce his retirement from international cricket as well, he mentioned: “It was nothing but lovely playing with you, @mahi7781. My heart full of pride, I am joining you on this journey. Thank you, India. Jai Hind!”

The retirement of both the players from international cricket was shocking and it surprised the whole nation. MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina both had joined Chennai Super Kings pre-season camp on that day and waited for a while to announce their decisions, but they chose the Independence Day for the same.

Considering the reason behind it was very special. It is related to the 73rd year of independence. The former Indian Captain jersey number is 7 and jersey of Raina holds the number 3 on it, combining them together becomes 73. A tweet for the same was round the social media throughout the day.

Both the players are currently part of the camp in Chennai. The camp was started on August 15 and will end on the 20th of this month. Chennai Super King will leave for UAE on August 21 as scheduled for IPL 2020. This year the whole IPL will be played in UAE because of the global pandemic.

Virat Kohli posted a video on his social media account showing the “mutual trust, respect and understanding” that MS Dhoni and he shared.

Kohli tweets: “Thank you for these moments skip. I couldn’t explain the mutual trust, respect, and understanding we share better than these two videos I’m posting today.”

Virat Kohli also mentioned that “the mutual respect and understanding isn’t a thing of choice, it develops when 2 individuals are focused & have the same vision throughout and for them, the vision was always to make India win!
