In a new interview published on the official Star Wars website, Lucasfilm Games Vice President Douglas Reilly confirmed that they will continue to work with EA on new games based on the franchise and that in fact several projects are already underway.

As we recently mentioned the confusion started shortly after Ubisoft announced that it was working on a new open-world Star Wars game. The problem was that EA still had a 10-year exclusivity agreement with Disney (2013-2023) to use the franchise in its games. However, it seems that this will not be a problem and that the famous Star Wars universe may be used by different companies.

We are very excited about the opportunity to work with the Massive team led by David Polfeldt and creative director Julian Gerighty. I am a huge fan of them personally. We are very excited about the direction of that project because they have a unique vision of the story and the game they want to offer Reilly commented on the title that he is developing in conjunction with Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment.

Regarding the projects with EA, the vice president of Lucasfilm Games commented that We are very proud of the games that we have created with EA. We will continue working with them our relationship has never been stronger. While we may not have many details to share at this point, we have several projects underway with the talented teams at EA.
