Legends of Tomorrow Season 6

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow co-showrunner Phil Klemmer has compared Season 6’s”Big Bad” Bishop into the Mad Titan himself, Thanos.

“[Co-showrunner] Grainne Godfree wanted a villain who danced. So we developed a villain who is not afraid to cut a small carpet and even sings on occasion,” But for sure, he’s our grooviest villain yet.”

In regard to Bishop’s approaches and schedule, however, Klemmer warned he’s a good deal in common with Thanos, so much as his strategies for Earth’s people are involved. “He’s intellectually driven to do something on paper makes sense, but in training is plain psychotic. He’s attempting to save the world, to save humankind, but he is doing it in an ass-backward manner”

Klemmer revealed that Bishop – performed by The Vampire Diaries alum Raffi Barsoumian –“has had his sights on Sara for a very long time” before her being abducted by aliens at the end of Season 5. “Sara is not being targeted as a victim, but to be turned into a spouse,” he added.” [Bishop], at least, purports to have altruistic reasons for saving humankind. He believes Sara is instrumental for that. Of course, his thoughts are unhinged, but he has a fascination with her.”

Klemmer added that environmentalism is going to be a recurring motif throughout Legends of Tomorrow Season 6, noting that it was”really on top of [the show’s writers’] heads” as they discussed the season’s alien-oriented story. He also indicated this storyline was largely formed by all of the awful things that happened in the world in 2020.” It was a hard year for a whole lot of factors. To be attacked from without our world also compels you to rethink why we invest so much time attacking ourselves from within as a species”

The synopsis for Legends of Tomorrow Season 6 reads,

Having spent last season trying to track down the Loom of Fate to bring their slain comrades, the Legends should now save history from a foe like none they have encountered in the past or future. Co-captains of the time-ship Waverider Sara Lance and Ava Sharpe have coped with critters, timing anomalies, and most lately, villains from Hell, but this year they’ll face something even more challenging and eccentric… space aliens!

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan, Olivia Swann, Jes Macallan, Adam Tsekhman, Shayan Sobhian, Lisseth Chavez and Raffi Barsoumian. Season 6 rebounds at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
