Preparations for the IPL 2021 season are going on loudly. By this evening (20 January), all franchisees of this league have to hand over the names of their players, whom they will retain and release this new season. A virtual meeting of the Governing Council of the IPL was held on Monday, in which the players’ release and retention, as well as the auction date of the players, were discussed. It is believed that the players’ auction can be conducted on February 11 (IPL 2021 Auction Date).
However, no decision has been taken on the date and place regarding this auction. But it is believed that this auction can be conducted between the first and second Test of the India vs England Test series. The first Test of this series of 4 Test matches will be played in Chennai from 5 to 9 February. After this, the second Test is to be played from 13 to 17 February.
According to news from ESPN Cricinfo, there is speculation that this auction will be held on February 11. This time the auction program of the players will be for 1 day, which will continue till late evening. Earlier, BCCI had plans to field 10 teams this season. But at present, it has postponed its plan till 2022. That is, like every time, 8 teams will take part in this season too.
By the way, the BCCI has not yet made it clear that this time it will conduct the IPL event in India or it will be abroad like last season. But now in India, Kovid-19 is seen under virus control and its vaccine has also arrived. In such a situation, the board would like to organize it in their country.
