Hunters is a conspiracy thriller, black comedy period drama American web television series. The creator of the show is David Weil. Producers of the show are Jerry Kupfer, Kris Baucom, Glenn Kessler and Mark Bianculli. Amazon Prime Video series, loosely inspired by the Nazi hunters. The series received a renewal for season two recently.
Plot
The series is based on real-life Nazi hunters. In the first season, Al Pacino is the leader of the “Hunters”. The story is based on the Nazi criminals who lived in 1977 New York City. They were conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the U.S. A part of the plot is the Operation Paperclip by the U.S. government. In this operation, many German scientists, mostly Nazis, were brought to the U.S. Logan Lerman plays Jonah Heidelbaum, a Jewish teen, whose grandmother dies a mysterious death. He then takes her place among the Hunters.
Season 1 ended with a terrific climax. With more questions than answers and heartbreaking truths revealed it left quite an impact on viewers. In the last episode, we see Jonah is on the hunt for Wilhelm Zuchs also known as The Wolf. He was the Nazi doctor who tortured Meyer and Ruth and Jonah wants retribution for this. After a series of clues leading him to a surgeon, possibly The Wolf, Meyer executes him. However, Meyer does not recite the prayer he had sworn to read while executing The Wolf. This creates suspicion in Jonah and he realizes that Meyer is The Wolf.
Zuch reveals his identity as fake Meyers. He claims to have undergone plastic surgery to escape the Soviets. He regrets his actions and therefore decided to bring the Hunters together as an apology. However, Jonah decides to kill him for his betrayal. The hunters continue their mission to Europe after this drama.
Cast
The main characters Logan Lerman, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Josh Radnor, Tiffany Boone, Kate Mulvay and Lena Olin will star in Hunters Season 2.
Release Date
Hunters was renewed for season 2 in August 2020. We still have no shooting date or release date yet.
