If you have a zoom meeting that is recorded, there are two places where the zoom recordings can be saved:
- The Zoom Cloud
- Your Computer or Laptop
The first option that is the Zoom Cloud, it is only available for the users who have a paid membership. Unpaid/free users do not get this facility.
However, both the paid and unpaid users can save the zoom recording locally on a computer or laptop. If you are using your mobile phone then the local recording can’t be saved may it be iPhone or Android.
How to save your locally saved Zoom Recordings?
Account Holder
- To modify your account settings, sign in as an administrator in the Zoom web portal.
- Choose account settings.
- Search for the Local Recording option in the Recording Tab and confirm that your setting is enabled. If your setting is disabled click toggle to enable it.
- In order to enable the users on your account to have the same setting compulsorily search for the lock icon and click on the lock to save the setting. (Optional)
For administrator/ Group
- Open your zoom account as an administrator to make changes in the users group.
- Choose group management.
- Choose your group then click on Settings Tab
- Search for the Local Recording option in the Recording Tab and confirm that your setting is enabled. If your setting is disabled click toggle to enable it.
( If you are not able to access the setting it means that the setting as been locked out at the account level )
- In order to enable the users on your account to have the same setting compulsorily search for the lock icon and click on the lock to save the setting. (Optional)
Zoom User
- Sign in as an account administrator or an account member.
- As an administrator choose my meeting setting or if you are a member choose meeting setting.
- Search for the Local Recording option in the Recording Tab and confirm that your setting is enabled. If your setting is disabled click toggle to enable it.
( If you are not able to access the setting it means that the setting as been locked out at the account level or group )

How to Access Your Recordings?
Local Recording
The locally recorded Zoom meetings are saved on your computer or laptop in a separate folder and marked with the time, days, and the name of the meeting.
Steps to Access your recording files
- Open Zoom on your computer or laptop.
- Choose meeting.
- Click on the recorded tab and choose the meeting of local recording which you want to view.
(If the local recording is not yet converted into video format, click on the convert button.)
- Now you will see the following options,

Cloud Recording
For the paid users the cloud recording is enabled by default. The user has to click on record to the cloud option in order to record a meeting. The audio, video, and all the chat of the meeting are recorded and saved in Zoom Cloud.
