Green Arrow and the Canaries

Green Arrow and the Canaries was initially a backdrop pilot before the finale of Arrow in March 2020. It was the 9th episode of Season 8 of Arrow. So the makers were quite interested in lining up another superwoman show along with the pre-existing Supergirl and Batwoman.

But ever since its release things are not working in the favor of the series. Even though, with a whopping of 0.89 million viewers, it marked the season’s highest ratings.

The spin-off is about Mia, who is the daughter of Oliver Queen and his friend’s kids Dinah Drake and Laurel Lance. The black canaries are Dinah and Laurel. So, Mia decides to step into her father’s shoes after the ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’.

With the help of Dinah, Mia now has the memory of Pre-Crisis future and Post-Crisis future. This will bring about a very different element to the series, a person existing with such powerful knowledge. Also, the series is going to take place in 2040.

Green Arrow and the Canaries

The Arrowverse definitely needs a female-oriented series that not only features them but is actually about them. But as of now neither the cast nor the crew has any knowledge of getting this series on track.

The cast of Green Arrow and the Canaries

  • McNamara as Mia Smoak
  • Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance aka Black Canary
  • Juliana Harkavy as Dinah Drake aka Black Canary

This series will finally give us a view of the female superhero world. The kind of problems are these women going to face? Will they be able to lead a dual life of being mediocre and a superhero at the same time?

How can 3 women agree with each other to save the world from enemies? The kind of friendships they could establish between them is definitely going to be different from the ones that superheroes did.
