
The upcoming American monster film Godzilla vs Kong is a sequel to Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Kong: Skull Island. The film is directed by Adam Wingard and produced by Legendry Pictures Productions. This project is the 36th film in the Godzilla franchise and 12th in the King Kong franchise.
The upcoming monster film was announced in October 2015 and the principle photography began in November, 2018. The release of the film was delayed due to the unforeseeable Covid-19 pandemic but nevertheless it will be releasing soon.
The Cast
Godzilla vs Kong will feature Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Jessica Henwick, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, and Demián Bichir in lead roles.
The plot
The Monsterverse promises a legendary show-down between the Kings of monster world Godzilla and Kong. Set in futuristic times where monsters named Titans walk the Earth, this collision between Kong and Godzilla will raise questions upon the future of humanity and balance of nature upon the planet and how mortal human beings will contain this gigantic faceoff.
In the previous installments of Godzilla and Kong, the post credit scenes indicated prehistoric carvings and painting upon caves of battles between Godzilla and Kong. This cliffhanger is being carried forward in the major crossover between the two monster kings which leads to immense excitement within fandoms of both the franchises.
Confirmed Release Date
The film is likely to be released on a digital platform. Sources have revealed that there is a tough competition between streamers namely Netflix and HBO for the streaming rights of the unreleased big-budget film.
Makers of the Monsterverse had finalized the screening in theaters in November 2020, but due to the pandemic crisis, the makers of the film have scheduled its release to 21st May, 2021 mostly on a digital platform.
