Juan Carlos Garrido is now officially the new Castellon coach. The El Puig coach has signed his contract with the Albinegro club on Wednesday morning and has already got to work. The agreement is until the end of the season. Mario Rosas, Xavi Oliva, and Diego Mejías complete the staff of the new Albinegro coach as an assistant coach goalkeeping coach, and physical trainer, respectively.

Castellon has secured a coach in Champions mode. In fact, G Garrido is the only national coach who has managed in the Champions League in Africa, Europe, and Asia. In Europe, he did it with Villarreal, in Africa with Moroccan Casablanca, and in Asia with Allan of the United Arab Emirates.

Seven years out of Spain

Since his time at Villarreal and Betis Garrido has not stopped training in various foreign clubs that have allowed him to learn new methodologies and ways of understanding football beyond Spain, winning many titles and playing international competitions. In this order, the coach has passed through Al Ahly in Egypt, where he won the CAF Confederation Cup second African club competition after the Champions League in 2014 being the first time that the club won this title. Also, he won the African Super Cup in the same year.

The Valencian coach continued his career as a coach, first at Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia and, later, at Raja Casablanca in Morocco, a team in which he was proclaimed champion of the CAF Confederation Cup 2018, being the first Spanish coach to win this trophy twice. Next, Garrido took the bench for teams such as Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates Etoile Sportive du Sahel of Tunisia, and Wydad Casablanca of Morocco.
