- Finn Bálor defeated Kyle O’Reilly during the New Year’s Evil main event
During the broadcasts of NXT New Year’s Evil 2021 through the USA Network, Finn Bálor managed to retain the NXT Championship after defeating Kyle O’Reilly in a heads-up.
In the main event of the night, both competitors had a very even combat where the padlock keys and knees prevailed. In the final minutes, The Prince applied a Stomp on Kyle and brought him to the third rope, but the Undisputed Era performed several suplexes from above. Finn kicked his rival in the corner and applied a brace to the back so that O’Reilly surrenders and Bálor retains the title via surrender.
