Since leaving WWE in 2017, Fred Rosser, formerly known as Darren Young, has made appearances across the Pro Wrestling scene. Now competing for New Japan Pro Wrestling, Rosser has been consistent in NJPW Strong and has shared the ring with some of the best in the company.

The former WWE Tag Team Champion recently spoke with Michael Morales Torres of Lucha Libre Online and discussed a number of topics. Fred Rosser revealed how Chris Jericho inspired him to do a Broadway musical and also revealed his current relationship with WWE.

“Well, you don’t have to hit the wood to have 2020 as crazy as it was. I was really blessed with many opportunities outside of wrestling. Around January or February, I was involved in a musical in New York. So, I was singing, dancing and acting. Three things I never really did, except for my WWE experience. Chris Jericho was a big influence and I believed him. I know he goes far beyond wrestling. ”

Fred Rosser also stated that the project ended near Valentine’s Day (late February) and shortly afterward WWE called him to WrestleMania Axxess. However, due to the pandemic, his return plans were canceled.

“Then it all happened and it ended around Valentine’s Day and then WWE called me right after and said that he wanted me for WrestleMania Axxess, WWE Network interviews, and who knows what else. Then, right after the musical for Days of Girlfriends, WWE called me. I was in the clouds and then the pandemic hit everyone. ”

“Then I got the unfortunate call that we weren’t going to WrestleMania and they were obviously doing WrestleMania at the Performance Center. But I can say that I’m not on the WWE ban list because recently, I was on The Bump. So, you know, I’m still on good terms with WWE, but nothing lasts forever. ”
