Dark Side of the Ring Season 3

The professional-wrestling docuseries Dark Side of the Ring is all set to make its comeback with a third season. Reportedly, Vice TV has renewed the series for a third season which would comprise of 14 episodes. The fans were engrossed by the compelling, thought-provoking and engaging story-telling of the previous seasons. Thus, the renewal has surely got them excited.

Dark Side of the Ring is a Canadian documentary television series. It is produced by Vice Studios in partnership with Crave of The Bell media’s. The series has become the highest rated show in Vice TV’s four-year history. It has been directed by Jason Eisener who is also the executive producer.  The second season finale about Owen Hart had an average of 349,000 viewers.

Renewal of the show

The show made its debut on Viceland on 10th April, 2019. The success of the first season caused the second season to be renewed on 23rd July of the same year. The second season premiered in 2020 and has been a massive hit.

On 19th October, 2020, the series was renewed for a third season which would consist of 14 episodes. The executive vice president and general manager of Vice Television, Morgan Hertzman said,

“Dark Side of the Ring is a knockout show for Vice TV. Evan Hansey and Jason Eisener are true heavyweight champions of the world (of TV), and we are so excited to pin down a third season of this incredible series.”

He continued saying, “Seasons one and two of ‘Dark Side of the Ring’ are examples of the compelling, thought-provoking, and engaging story-telling we champion here at Vice TV. We can’t wait to see what the series will throw down in the third round.”

What is the show about?

In the premiere episode of the second season, the story of Chris Benoit who killed his wife & son and then hanged himself was shown. We also saw other stories like the murder of Dino Bravo, New Jack’s murder, Nancy Argentino’s death, David Schultz’s violent run in with a 20/20 reporter and many more. The season ended with the episode showing the stunt of Owen Hart which went tragically wrong.

The audience will be looking forward to see more of such stories in the upcoming season as well.

Chris Jericho, the AEW star narrated the second season and is most likely to feature in the third season as well. In an interview with Digital Spy, he said,

“There’s so many characters in wrestling history, some that are very famous and some who aren’t as famous. I’m excited to see what they come up with because I never expected to see an episode on David Schultz or Herb Abrams or any of these crazy characters, but there’s hundreds of them in the wrestling business and I’m excited to continue to be involved with the show”

The fans are eagerly waiting for this incredible series to return.
