Clarice Season 2 may not take place, Silence of the Lambs The spinoff has not yet been cancelled. Alex Kurtzman directed the film and Rebecca Breeds played FBI Special Agent Clarice Starling. The mystery thriller was made in 1993. The Silence of the Lambs You can find it at Clarice Season 1 set Starling off on a new journey to uncover a vast conspiracy.
FBI’s Violent Crimes Apprehension Program (ViCAP), hired Clarice due to her expertise in finding serial killers. Starling discovered a series of serial murders. However, she soon realized that it wasn’t the work and execution of a serial thief but rather a complex conspiracy involving a pregnant woman who were murdered in protest of powerful pharmaceutical production. Despite the tensions she felt with ViCAP’s director, Paul Krendler Michael Cudlitz), Attorney general Ruth Martin (Jayne Atkinson), along with her colleagues, Clarice courageously pursued truth with the assistance of Ardelia Mapp (Devyn A. Tyler). Clarice, despite being in danger of her life, discovered the plot hatched by Tyson Conway (Douglas Smith), and Nils Hagen (Peter McNabbbie), Alastor Pharmaceuticals’ billionaire owner.
Despite Clarice’s Silence of the Lambs heritage, the series struggled for ratings on CBS. A behind-the-scenes dispute between the show’s production houses looks to prevent Clarice’s season 2 from being produced. We now know all about Clarice’s future.
Clarice Season 2 Cancelation Update
Clarice wasn’t officially cancelled, but it won’t return to CBS in the fall of 2021. Clarice ranked as the network’s least-watched or rated show. Although it did well streaming on Paramount+, Clarice was in a deal to bring Seal Team to Paramount+. But The Silence of the Lambs was not officially announced as being moving to the streaming channel. CBS Studios/Paramount+ is accused of being in a financial dispute with MGM Studios, which coproduce Clarice.
MGM Studios announced in May that it was being acquired by Amazon. However, MGM Studios walked out of the negotiation table. This effectively killed Clearice‘s chances of moving over to Paramount+. CBS/Paramount allegedly balked at a less-than-fair deal in financing the series. Paramount+ requested a reduced episode count. Clarice becomes an exclusive Paramount+ member, which prevents Paramount+ from seeking an off-network streaming deal (such as Clarice being available on Amazon Prime/Hulu). Clarice could still be saved if a deal is reached at the last minute, but there haven’t yet been any reported breakthroughs.
What Clarice Season 2’S Story Could Be About
Clarice spent season 1 dragging Agent Starling by the two serial killers, Hannibal Lecter or Buffalo Bill. Clarice did not show Hannibal. He was mentioned only once on the show. Starling dealt with her trauma about Buffalo Bill. Clarice also used Thomas Harris’ The Silence of the Lambs novel, which was a springboard to further Starling’s backstory. This made Starling’s family life more complex than she admitted to Lecter. Starling was basing her self-image upon her dead father and Clarice was suppressing the memories of his sins. Starling season 2 would probably explore the consequences of this shocking self-discovery on Starling moving forward.
Clarice also had tumultuous relationships with ViCAP. Eventually, she earned their trust and respect, as did Attorney General Ruth Martin. Clarice also had relationships with Catherine (Marnee Carpenter), the traumatized last victim/survivor of Buffalo Bill. ViCAP and Agent Starling have solved the first season of the conspiracy. There will be a new mystery. Clarice Season 2, if that happens.
