Castlevania Season 4

Season 4 of Castlevania is going to be the show’s final, but Netflix has released a poster and teaser to acquire viewers excited for the upcoming ending. The animated series is based on the video games of the same name and premiered in the summer of 2017. It follows the characters Trevor Belmont, Alucard, and Sypha Belnades since they battle a vengeful Dracula and attempt to keep the people of Wallachia safe. Castlevania seasons 1 and 2 centered on the 1989 match Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, while 2005’s Castlevania: Curse of Darkness came into play in seasons 2 and 3.

The most recent season was released on March 5, 2020 with 10 episodes, which makes it Castlevania’s greatest run of episodes in the moment. Netflix confirmed season 4 just a few weeks after. First look pictures that surfaced in November revealed Sypha and Trevor, though it was hard to glean any narrative details out of them. Fortunately, this week brought a whole plethora of new info about Castlevania season 4, though not all of it is excellent news for viewers.

Netflix first released a poster for the new season highlighting the Alucard Shield. Next came a brief teaser for Castlevania season 4, with Netflix utilizing the video to show the newest season releases on May 13. It will also be the series’ last. However, it may not be the ending completely, Netflix is considering a brand new show with various personalities which would be put in the same universe. Check out both the poster and season 4 teaser below:

The news that Castlevania is finishing season 4 doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, though that’s probably little consolation for viewers. Creator Warren Ellis was accused of sexual misconduct by numerous girls in June 2020 and would not have experienced any more engagement using Castlevania past his previously finished work on season 4. It’s possible Netflix discovered it neater to finish the series all together, although not saying goodbye to its world thanks to this possible new show.

Fortunately, there are still ten episodes of Castlevania to proceed. The season 4 teaser makes it seem like the new episodes will provide a fitting conclusion for the show. It’s also exciting to learn season 4 will release relatively soon, though it does mean audiences have significantly less time to come to terms with the Castlevania ending. Hopefully, more information about the potential other series set in the universe comes out soon. This could help reduce the sting of Castlevania’s cancellation.
