- The way Brodie Lee was honored on RAW was not to the liking of Brian Myers and many fans
- Vince Russo was also others who expressed their discomfort with the tribute that WWE made
WWE paid tribute to Brodie Lee, known as Luke Harper in the company, with a graphic to open this week’s Monday Night RAW show. Several Superstars of the company paid tribute to the former Intercontinental Champion throughout the RAW episode including on RAW Talk.
However, unlike some other deceased fighters who received all ten bells with the entire roster below the titantron, as was the case with Pat Patterson as a recent example, Brodie Lee did not receive that honor on RAW. A former WWE superstar was unhappy with the company’s tribute to Lee, and several fans have also expressed their displeasure on social media.
Impact Wrestling superstar Brian Myers, known in his WWE stint as Curt Hawkings, is unhappy with what WWE did to honor Brodie Lee during this week’s episode of Raw on USA Network. Myers, through his Twitter account, complained that not even the 10 chimes rang in his memory or showed a video with his best moments in the company.
Brian Myers wrote in a tweet,
” Aren’t they going to honor him with the 10 chimes? Aren’t they putting a video in his honor either? This man was loved by his peers and he didn’t deserve such a simple tribute,”
Vince Russo Also Showed His Frustration
“Nobody really talks about things like this, but we should. How do we determine who gets a ten-chime tribute and who doesn’t? That really annoys me because you always hear wrestlers say they’re family. The great Pat Patterson passed away. a couple of weeks ago and he got his ten chimes. Luke Harper didn’t have that honor, they just posted a photo, just like Chyna. I never understood or will understand this, “stated Vince Russo while being interviewed by Chris Featherstone for SK Wrestling’s Legion of RAW.
