Netflix original show Another Life is all set to return for a season 2. The second season was announced by Netflix in October 2019, but the release date of the show has not yet been disclosed.
Aaron Martin is the creator of the show and it first aired on Netflix on July 25, 2019. Aaron Martin, Noreen Halpern and Chris Regina are the executive producers of the show.
Katee Sackhoff, who stars as Niko quoted that,
“We had the outline of what the show was going be, but I was in the writers’ room and I got to put what I feel is my fingerprint on the show, which is something that I was looking forward to, so, we know where the show potentially will go for the first three seasons. As an actor, that was new for me. To be a part of those conversations and to have an opinion was cool.”
What Is The Show All About?
The show is set in futuristic times where humans have crossed various pathways across space and have acknowledged the existence of aliens.
The story starts with a strange chip shaped unidentified object landing on Earth. This UFO forms a crystal-like structure around it which goes towards the sky and emits signals. Erik Wallace is a scientist who discovers these signals and attempts to decipher them. His wife Niko Breckinridge is an astronaut and a leader of the space expedition to follow the unidentified signal. On her journey to outer space Niko loses her consciousness and is awaken in a spacecraft named the Salvare. The ship is off course and is heading towards a star named Sirius A. She and other members of the crew attempt to bring the ship back to its course which ends up in a feud among them.
In the final episode, Erik is finally able to decipher the alien signals and the intentions behind them. This serves as a cliffhanger for the 2nd season.
