Ricky Gervais began working on the new year’s writing soon after the announcement of renewal. On July 23, 2020, he shared that the initial look of the first episode of the third season on his own Twitter handles. Ricky Gervais confirmed that the third season will be the last season of After Life. It’s likely that it is filming won’t be affected by Covid-19. It was noted that, in the UK, production work will begin again from July or August 2020, taking each of the required precautions. We’re expecting it to come sooner or later in 2021.

Plot
The plot revolves around Tony Johnson, who is fighting with the recent loss of his spouse because of breast cancer. He attempts to take his own life but decides to make everybody’s life miserable till he sees a glimpse of himself into his drug-addicted coworker Matt.
In the finale of the previous season, Ricky faces another setback when his father passes away from dementia. Season 3 will concentrate on the way Ricky will take care of the loss of his dad as well as also his relationship with Emma. In the next season, we’re hoping to see more regarding the newly patched up union of Matt.
