A-Kid will defend the NXT UK Heritage Cup against Sha Samuels in the next weekly episode of the British WWE brand, which will take place on February 18, 2021. The announcement has been made official on the show broadcast tonight on WWE Network.
Samuels has been Noam Dar’s guest in a new edition of Supernova Sessions where the Scotsman has proposed that the Londoner should face A-Kid, an idea that Sid Scala has assured that he would study together with the general manager, Johnny Saint. Later, the announcement was made official, in which it will be the second defense of the trophy by the ‘Anonymous Child’
During the NXT UK episode aired on November 26, A-Kid was proclaimed the winner of the Heritage Cup after beating Trent Seven in the grand finale. This was the first achievement that the ‘Anonymous Child’ in the company, which made him the first Spanish wrestler to win a trophy in WWE. A-Kid was one of the upsets of the tournament that began with NXT UK’s return to television in September, where they beat Flash Morgan Webster and Noam Dar to reach the final round.
In addition, he successfully defended the cup against Tyler Bate whom he defeated in six rounds. However, the Vallecano could not capitalize on his good streak to win the NXT UK Championship and fell defeated before the power of WALTER in just under 15 minutes.
For his part, Samuels is one of the most recent additions to the cast of NXT UK. The Londoner made his British division debut on January 14 under the alias Ed Harvey and lost to Joe Coffey. A couple of weeks later, the fighter would step back into the ring, this time as Sha Samuels and overwhelm Josh Morrell for victory.
