Young Sheldon Season 5

We may have bid goodbye to Big Bang Theory back in 2019, however, the spinoff series Young Sheldon is still going strong. The Chuck Lorre sitcom tells the origin story of Sheldon Cooper, the character first portrayed as a grownup by Jim Parsons. In Young Sheldon, Iain Armitage takes over the role, putting his spin on the glowing young boy as a science-loving kid growing up in East Texas.

When the series first premiered on CBS in 2017, Decider’s Joel Keller commended the”hot” show for having”a lot of heart,” composing, “Considering we already like the figures in Young Sheldon, a refinement of the humorous will make it better.”

Four decades after and Young Sheldon remains delighting fans, having just wrapped up Season 4 to CBS. But will the strike show continue telling Sheldon’s story? Are we becoming Young Sheldon Season 5?

Young Sheldon fans, look no further — here’s everything you want to know about Season 5.

Young Sheldon Season 5 Release Date

In 2020, the global health crisis forced Hollywood into an essential standstill. Both movie and TV productions had to close down for security reasons, such as Young Sheldon. It is the reason the series debuted in early November 2020, despite its average late September small screen return. Despite the sitcom coming back more than a month later than its normal schedule, it is safe to presume that it will go back to its normal premiere date for the upcoming calendar year. Therefore, while CBS has yet to officially announce a particular Young Sheldon season 5 launch date, it is highly probable that it will be around the third to the fourth week of September 2021.

Young Sheldon Season 5

While we do not have a finalized cast list for Young Sheldon Season 5, we could anticipate the titular star of this series, Iain Armitage, to return, along with Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Matt Hobby. Stay prepared for an exciting Season 5 cast addition.

Young Sheldon Season 5 Story Details

At this point in the story of Young Sheldon, Sheldon is currently 11-years-old and is in his first year of college. There is no sign that season 4 will wrap up the college year, so odds are that the sitcom is stretching the ongoing story out before next year. Expect some more episodic adventures for your Coopers as the socially inept genius further settles into his new life as East Texas Tech; maybe Dr. Sturgis may even find himself back at the college despite originally refusing reinstatement. Besides that, however, it is safe to presume that Young Sheldon season 5 will begin setting up the inevitable fall out of George Sr. and Mary’s marriage — something that was established in The Big Bang Theory. Young Sheldon has successfully able to dance around the darkened storyline in the last few years but as the timeline progresses, it won’t have any option but to eventually tackle it.
