We started a new NXT show with one of the semifinals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag team Classic.

Semifinals Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic

MSK (West Lee and Nash Carter) vs. Legacy of the Ghost (Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza)

West Lee and Wilde begin the match in a very technical way where both apply varieties of padlocks until Nash Carter enters the fight. Dropkick combined in the corner with Lee and now Mendoza enters the fight. Control of Mendoza’s combat until Carter takes over from Lee and they apply a combination of kicks followed by a Carter Foot Stomp. Both members of the Legacy of the Phantom move on to take control as they constantly swap relays at the corner to hit Lee. Double Suplex followed by a Wilde Splash on Lee looking for the count but it remains at 2.

Relay for Carter who attacks Mendoza in the corner with everything. Wilde takes over and Carter does not notice to apply a Dropkick to him and throw him out of the ring, to which his partner does the same with his other rival and both pose in the center of the ring. After commercials, Lee hits Mendoza with everything until he applies a Superkick. Lee throws Wilde out of the ring and throws Carter on both of them before launching himself. Back in the ring, Mendoza applies a Brainbuster to Lee followed by the count that Carter saves and Lee takes the opportunity to apply a Superkick to Wilde followed by the Running Blockbuster between them to get the victory.

Winners: MSK (West Lee and Nash Carter)

Therefore, MSK is the first finalist of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. They both celebrate in the ring while looking at the trophy. Tonight you will meet your opponents that you will face in the final of NXT Takeover Vengeance Day.

Next Xia Li will be in action.

A Mercedes Martinez promo is shown where she states that the NXT Women’s Championship is hers and this Sunday at NXT Takeover Vengeance Day, she will take her gold.

Xia Li vs. Cora Jade

Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro are all the way at ringside and Boa try to keep them from interfering. Jade knocks Xia down but she quickly recovers and kicks him and applies a Superkick to win the fight.

Winner: Xia Li

After the Combat, Carter faces Tain Sha, Boa, and Xia’s teacher. She notices and destroys both of them while her teacher punished Boa. Finally, they both apologize to their mentor.

We see William Regal enter his dressing room and Scarlett is at the table. This tells him that the time has come and it will be next week. Regal says that if what he wants is a meeting between Santos Escobar and Carrion Kross to which Scarlett says yes. The general manager of NXT makes a match between the two officials for next week.

The Way arrives at the NXT ring and Johnny Gargano, North American champion, is with a sling on his left arm and sitting in a wheelchair. Gargano says that because of KUSHIDA’s attack last week, he is unfit to fight at NXT Takeover Vengeance Day as KUSHIDA broke his arm. Gargano says he has fractures in his arm and is in a lot of pain. Gargano says that William Regal must suspend KUSHIDA for his actions William Regal comes on stage! Regal tells him that the doctors have told him before the show that he is fit and to end this show.

Gargano shows an X-ray of a broken bone and says KUSHIDA did that to him. Regal tells him that that arm is the right one and Gargano theoretically has his left injured. Gargano tries to convince him to what Regal makes it clear that the match is still scheduled … KUSHIDA appears after The Way KUSHIDA hits Theory and tries to take the title from Gargano and he grabs it with both hands making his falsehood clear. KUSHIDA applies a Dropckik to Gargano and he retreats in triumph.

Semifinals Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic

The Way (Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell) vs. Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon

The combat begins with a domino of Shotzi and Ember over Candice who looks for relief but both hit her in her corner. Indi enters and applies a Suplex to Shotzi followed by the count remaining at 2. Candice takes control along with Indi who exchange relays and repeatedly hits Shotzi’s left arm. The rules continue to maintain control by focusing on Shotzi’s left arm, hitting him repeatedly, and applying lock variants. Shotzi manages to take over from Ember who hits Candice with everything. Indi enters the fight and Ember knocks her down to take over Shotzi and apply a combined attack that ends with a Shotzi Superkick and the count that remains at 2. Shotzi takes Candice out of the ring but she reverses and throws her on the comment table too.

After the commercials, the rude dominance continues but Shotzi and Candice enter at the same time where Shotzi punishes Candice with everything. Ember enters and applies a combined movement with Shotzi followed by the count that saves Indi and in turn throws Shotzi out of the ring. Candice Moonsault on Ember and immediately applies a Suicide Dive on Shotzi while Indi applies the count remaining at 2. Ember causes Indi and Candice to hit each other and Shotzi enters the fight. Candice superkick and gives relief to Indi who applies an Elbow Drop from the corner and the count that Ember saves. Shotzi looks for a Rollup on Indi that is in 2, to immediately apply a DDT while Ember applies the Eclipse to Candice that is on the canvas. Indi lunges at her and Shotzi applies a Senton from the corner to win the fight.

Winners: Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon

Therefore, at NXT Takeover Vengeance Day, Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart will face Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai in the final of the Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Ember and Shotzi celebrate next to the tournament and Raquel and Dakota come out to face them, to which William Regal makes his entrance and announces that the tournament winners will also get a chance at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Santos Escobar, Crucero champion, is interviewed about his fight next week against Carrion Kross but Wilde and Mendoza interrupt him and apologize. Santos tells him they don’t have to apologize if they visit Kross and make sure he doesn’t make it to their match next week, to which the trio leave together.

They show a promo of the NXT Championship match between the champion, Finn Bálor against Pete Dunne at NXT Takeover Vengeance Day.

KUSHIDA vs. Austin Theory

He begins the fight with the dominance of KUSHIDA but Gargano distracts him from ringside. Theory hits KUSHIDA with everything and takes the initiative until KUSHIDA reverses and applies a Dropkick followed by a blow to Theory’s left arm. KUSHIDA focuses on hitting Theory’s arm as Gargano watches. After commercials, Theory takes control hitting KUSHIDA with kicks and knees who reverses with a Back Elbow and a German Suplex. KUSHIDA continues to repeatedly hit Theory’s arm as it comes out of the ring alongside Gargano. KUSHIDA applies an amber to Theory on the aprón but Gargano applies a Superkick to him.

Winner: KUSHIDA by disqualification

After the match, Gargano and Theory attack KUSHIDA but Theory is dragged under the ring. Gargano tries to get Theory out, but Dexter Lumis appears! The theory appears and escapes but KUSHIDA hits him and Gargano goes to his aid, while Lumis and KUSHIDA apply a lock to the members of The Way. Finally, KUSHIDA poses with the North American Championship while Lumis keeps an eye on the Championship.

A promo of Toni Storm is broadcast where he analyzes his rival NXT Takeover Vengeance Day. She claims that she is the most powerful and dominant of NXT and this Sunday she will take the NXT Women’s Championship to begin her era.

Mendoza and Wilde appear devastated backstage. Scarlett passes over them and Carrion Kross focuses the camera on him. He calls Escobar a coward and tells him that nothing and nobody will prevent his meeting next week.

Cameron Grimes arrives at the arena in a luxurious car and begins to distribute money to everyone he runs into until he reaches the ring. Grimes says that now he’s changed and he’s not the coward he was, but he’s got a lot of money and he’s rich, and no one, not even William Regal can tell him what to do because he’s rich and has more money than any NXT superstar. He finally ends up freaking out under a pile of bills.A promo of Io Shirai is airing ahead of their fight on Takeover Vengeance Day. Io Shirai says that he will keep his Championship and that it will not be easy, but he has already defeated many rivals during his reign.

Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zack Gibson) vs. Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa

Before the fight begins, Gibson criticizes Thatcher and Ciampa’s team and tells them that they cannot defeat him because they hate each other and are not a team. Thatcher and Ciampa hit Drake and Gibson with everything. They both are thrown against the barricade and then Gibson is thrown into the ring. The meeting begins with rapid changes of relays between Thatcher and Ciampa to apply blows and locks on Gibson who reacts with the help of Drake to whom he gives the relief to hit Thatcher with everything who wants to give the relief to Ciampa but Drake throws it against the metal steps.

Drake and Gibson’s dominance over Thatcher, which makes both go for Ciampa and apply a Double Powerbomb on the apron, and Ciampa is attended by several referees. After commercials, Ciampa tries to get to the corner but Gibson applies a Suplex on Thatcher, and the count remains at 2. Drake and Gibson apply a combined movement to Thatcher who reverses and looks for relief but Ciampa is not in the corner.

Gibson wants to hit him again but Ciampa applies a Chlotesline to him and takes over to attack Gibson and Drake with everything. Ciampa applies a German Suplex to each of them and looks for the count on Drake that remains in 2. Ciampa chops on Drake but Gibson takes over. Both hit with everything in the center of the ring and Ciampa knocks him down with a Jumping Knee to which Gibson counters with a Brainbuster. Drake knocks Thatcher out of his corner and applies a combined move with Gibson followed by the count that Thatcher saves. Gibson throws Thatcher over the barricade and applies the Ticket to Mayhem with Drake on Ciampa to win the fight.

Winners: Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zack Gibson)

Hence, Grizzled Young Veterans will face MSK in the final of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic at NXT Takeover Vengeance Day.

The show ends with a review of the NXT Takeover Vengeance Day card, as they show a poster of each match and the superstars face each other on the titantron, ending with a final face-to-face of Finn Balor and Pete Dunne in the ring.
