We started the special episode of NXT: New Year’s Evil with the heads up between Carrion Kross and Damian Priest.

Damian Priest vs. Karrion Kross with Scarlett
The two competitors wrestle until they reach ringside. Carrion follows his rival into the ring and manages to lift him up for a Chokeslam. Damian receives a padlock in the arms and is sent out of the ring. Kross tries to attack him with the steel step, but a kick from his rival stops him. Damian responds to his opponent’s attacks with laughter and manages to land a couple of punches that give him some advantage. Carrion receives the Broken Arrow and ends up in the corner when looking for the counterattack. The former NXT champion escapes from a wrench to the blows. Kross entangles his opponent in the corner and knees him unprotected. He tries to struggle, but his rival manages to throw him against the canvas. Damian keeps Karrion ringside and lunges at him. He searches for The Reckoning, but his rival escapes and launches him with a Powerbomb. Kross throws Priest over the ringside barricades and ends up in the ring with an elbow to the back of the head. 1 … 2 … 3 …

Winner: Carrion Kross on the count of three

Undisputed Era is announced against Breezango for the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic next week. Adam Cole And Roderick Strong are interviewed backstage and clarify that their victory will be a step forward in the return of the undisputed prophecy.

Gran Metalik Cruiser Championship (with Golden Lince) vs. Santos Escobar (with Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde)
They begin with tests of strength. They look for each other with leg shots and Metalik manages to launch his rival with a Hurracarrana. The masked man controls the fight with attacks on the ropes. He is taken to the edge of the ring and takes advantage of the stringing to jump on his opponent. Santos catches his opponent with a jump and crashes him into the barricade.
Escobar dominates after the commercial break. He searches for a back lock, but Metalik escapes and traps his opponent in a Roll-Up. The count reaches two, and the masked man manages to connect several attacks that close with a Shooting Star towards ringside. He prepares another jump, but Santos receives it with a knee. The champion throws himself towards his rival out of the ring and punishes him at the corners. Hurracarrana from Metalik as Lynx attacks Legacy of the Phantom. Santos takes it in the corner for the Phantom Driver and manages to retain the gold.
Winner and Still Champion: Santos Escobar on behalf of three

We are reminded that due to Timothy Thatcher’s medical discharge his Fight Pit against Tommaso Ciampa will be postponed until his condition improves.

Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Gonzales

Rhea starts with a superkick and the two are quick to exchange blows at ringside. Gonzales gets the first account of the night but decides to secure himself with a padlock on his arm. Ripley responds to kicks and chases her rival at ringside. He took a kendo stick and hit Raquel several times. The latter receives a jump with a chair and throws Rhea against the barricade. Ripley uses handcuffs to trap her rival at the barricade. Gonzales forcibly escapes and uses a piece of the wire to fight back. He throws her against the commentary table and tries to catch her with various objects, but Rhea gets up before the count of ten.
The action takes place backstage after the commercial break. Dakota Kai bursts in and takes Rhea to the backstage warehouse. The latter decides to lock her in one of the lockers. Gonzales receives a padlock to the legs, but manages to escape and throws his rival against the screen. Raquel throws her rival from a steel ladder and they both sink to the ground. The count often ends with Ripley on the ground.

The Way is celebrating Johnny Gargano’s victory in the streets.

His car is escorted by several police officers on the way to the Capitol Wrestling Center. The four make their entrance to the ring and Candice LeRae presents her husband with a plaque for having conquered his curse. Indi Hartwell and Austin Theory give him a painting of The Way drawn as the Fantastic Four. Additionally, Johnny makes the official announcement that he and Theory will enter the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Shotzi Blackheart appears to interrupt the celebration. Johnny tries to face him but Kushida stops him. Host Dexter Lumis arranges a mixed match for the show.
