During the transmission of NXT through USA Network, the first four teams that will participate in the first edition of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic for women were confirmed.
On tonight’s show, Candice LeRae scored a victory over Shotzi Blackheart with help from Indi Hartwell. In a backstage interview, Blackheart said that Candice and Indi would be in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic women’s tournament and that he needed a partner to face them. Immediately, Ember Moon offered to help her and they announced themselves as a new competing team.
In another promotion backstage, Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter confirmed that they would enter the tournament together, and later it was confirmed that both will face Toni Storm and Mercedes Martinez next Wednesday on NXT.
